Katrina Kaif-A Meteoric Rise
After the marriage of Ashwariya Rai with Abhishek Bachhan there was some unexplained decline in the popularity of Ash “the most beautiful woman on earth”. It appeared that probably Deepika Padukone will fill the void. But quite unexpectedly it was Katrina Kaif that became suddenly popular. Today she is dominating the scene in films and in advertisements on TV and print media all over India. Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to a Kashmiri Muslim father, Mohammed Kaif, and a British Christian mother, Suzanne. Her mother, a Harvard graduate, was a lawyer but later became involved in charity work. Her parents separated when Kaif was very young. She was raised in Hawaii and later moved to her mother's home country, England. At the age of fourteen she was approached by an agent and began modeling; her first job was for a jewelry campaign.
